Post & Poetry is a collection of creative prompts, very tiny writings, and simple, mindful “hands on” projects–all inspired by vintage postage stamps. Individual posts appear throughout the week on Instagram (@postandpoetry) and are gathered here by theme.
The goal of P&P is play, not perfection.
These prompts and ideas are for writers and creators of all ages and abilities.
(That’s all of us!)
MOON

FREEDOM OF THE PRESS
Reflecting: If you made a newspaper about your life, what would the biggest headline be? Why is it important to write your own story?
Listening: “The Writer’s Life” (Blue Moon Swing), “Mr. Reporter” (The Kinks), “The Interview” (Philip Glass), “Headline News” (Inez Andrews)

MUPPETS
Reflecting: How do you “make a difference in this world”? What is one thing you can do today to make the world “a little better”?
Listening: covers of “Rainbow Connection” by Willie Nelson, The Carpenters, Paul Williams (the songwriter!), and The Harvard Din & Tonics

LEARNING FOR LIFE
Reflecting: What is something new you would like to learn? What is stopping you?
Listening: “The Reading Rainbow Theme”; “I’m Gonna Read (500 Books),” Turtle Dance Music; “The Library Card Song,” Working with Lemons (from Arthur!); “Reader Meet Author,” Morrissey
